6TH EDITION chari-tees
THE 6TH EDITION
D.I.T.R.O X BB4CK
DIAMONDS IN THE ROUGH ORIGINALS (D.I.T.R.O) TEAMS UP WITH BROWN BAGGING FOR CALGARY’S KIDS (BB4CK) FOR A LIMITED EDITION LINEUP OF CHARITABLE T-SHIRTS TO HELP PROVIDE SCHOOL LUNCHES FOR CHILDREN IN CALGARY WHO WOULD OTHERWISE GO WITHOUT, TITLED #LUNCHBAGLOVE.
Sam Mendoza, apparel designer + founder of D.I.T.R.O has teamed up with BB4CK for her 6th Edition to create a collaborative limited edition set of “Chari-Tees” (charitable t-shirts) named #LUNCHBAGLOVE to launch on September 4, 2018.
This is Mendoza’s first partner campaign with BB4CK, aiming to raise nearly $4,000 to donate to the BB4CK program by August 2019. Five dollars from the sale of every #LUNCHBAGLOVE t-shirt will go directly to feeding kids through BB4CK programs and services.
Each edition has a set number of prints available online to give the “chari-tees” a unique identity. Every t-shirt within the 6th Edition will feature 1 of 12 custom D.I.T.R.O #LUNCHBAGLOVE artwork designs.
To design the chari-tees, Mendoza and BB4CK created an art contest for the students of the schools supported by BB4CK’s program, and BB4CK volunteers. Students and volunteers submitted a brown lunch bag decorated with their own piece of original art that was drawn, painted, stenciled – or however the contestants wished to express themselves – onto their submitted lunch bag.
From the submissions, Mendoza + BB4CK staff chose the decorated brown bags of 10 students and 2 BB4CK volunteers to feature as 1 of 12 unique #LUNCHBAGLOVE chari-tee designs. Each design will be released as part of a batch of 60 t-shirts released on a monthly basis throughout the campaign, with the combined batches making up the entirety of the #LUNCHBAGLOVE 6th Edition.
